Explore the spectacular scenery and routes that the Peak District has to offer. Join us on the Castleton, Mam Tor & The Great Ridge Walk which is known to be one of the greatest ridge walks in the country.
Event - Active Away is simply acting as an intermediary to facilitate our community coming together for the day. We accept no responsibility for the organisation of the event, parking fees, attendance numbers or costs.
Parking - Active Away will not be organising transport for this event. For specific fees and more information about car parks and parking permits, please visit here.
Itinerary
We will meet at Castleton Visitor Centre at 09:45 to begin our adventure at 10:00.
From Castleton, this walk takes you to the summit of Mam Tor where we will then walk up to the top of Back Tor.
Here we will stop to take a break and admire the stunning views around us. This will also be the time for lunch so please bring your own packed lunch. After this we will then move onto Lose Hill Pike.
After this 6 ½ mile loop walk, we will return back to Castleton approximately for 15:00.
From here, there is the option to join us for a well deserved drink at the village’s most established pub – the Cheshire Cheese Inn.
